Adaptive Gymnastics:

Our Adaptive Gymnastics Program is designed to cater to children with physical and intellectual disabilities ages 3 to 12 years old.These classes will introduce basic fine and gross motor skills through the fundamentals of gymnastics in a SAFE and FUN environment!



Basic Skills and Concepts Introduced

In our Adaptive Gymnastics Program classes your child will be introduced to the fundamentals of gymnastics. These classes focus on building strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Your athlete will learn and practice these skills on events, such as Vault, Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor with the addition of Trampoline and other fun activities.

Meet & Greet

Before enrolling in a class, we want to meet you and your child! A meet and greet will be a time we will get to know your child and their specific needs. This will help us work to provide your child with the best experience possible here at Let It Shine. To sign-up for a meet and greet email the program director, adaptivegymnastics@lisgym.com

Requirements for Class

To participate in a class, your child needs to be at least 3 years of age, respond to their name, follow simple directions to the best of their ability, and safely stay with their coach for the duration of the class. Parents or guardians are asked to stay on-site for the entire class.

Classes:

Small group class | 45 mins


Clothing Attire

Girls

- Leotard or athletic clothing.

- No jeans or dangly jewelry.

- Hair pulled back out of the face.

- No shoes unless needed for medical reasons.

Boys

- Athletic clothing.

- No jeans or hats.

- No shoes unless needed for medical reasons.

Class Info

Our Adaptive Gymnastics classes are structured as a small group setting. This to help provide the best environment possible for your child to succeed. Our classes are currently only offered on Friday evenings and are broken into two different sessions that run four months long each. There will be no make-ups offered for missed classes.

- Fall (August, September, October, November, December)

- Spring (January, February, March, April, May)

FAQs

- There will be no make-ups offered for missed classes.

- All Adaptive Gymnastics classes offered are co-ed.

- Communication devices are welcome to be used during class.

- Aids and therapists are welcome to join the class to assist your child. We just ask you to get prior consent from the program director.

- 1-on-1 sessions are available. Email the program director for more info. - For any additional questions please email the program director.
